Effect of treatment plan quality on outcomes after radiosurgery for vestibular schwannoma.
[ PUBLICATION ]
OBJECT: The goal in this study was to review the effects of treatment plan quality on outcomes after radiosurgery for vestibular schwannoma (VS).
METHODS: Between July 1988 and August 2005, 390 patients were treated. The results of this experience have been published recently. In this study the authors looked at dosimetry variables: conformity of treatment plan and steepness of dose gradient, in the same group of patients. Over the duration of this study, dosimetry evolved from a single ...

Regression of Hepatocellular Adenomas with Strict Dietary Therapy in Patients with Glycogen Storage Disease Type I
[ PUBLICATION ]
Hepatocellular adenomas (HCAs) are a common complication in patients with glycogen storage disease type I (GSD I). In this series, we report regression of HCAs in a cohort of patients who achieved metabolic control with strict dietary therapy. A retrospective review of the clinical records for all patients with GSD I was performed at our institution. All available imaging studies were reviewed in patients with reported regression of HCAs in the medical record. The charts of 163 patients ...

Goldenhar Syndrome is characterized by craniofacial, ocular and vertebral defects secondary to abnormal development of the 1st and 2nd branchial arches and vertebrae. Other findings include cardiac and vascular abnormalities. Though these associations are known, the specific anomalies are not well defined. We present a 7-month-old infant with intermittent respiratory distress that did not improve with respiratory interventions. Echocardiogram suggested a double aortic arch. Cardiac CT ...
