Predicting the Outcome of Microvascular Decompression for Trigeminal Neuralgia Using Magnetic Resonance Tomographic Angiography
[ PUBLICATION ]
OBJECTIVE: To investigate the role of preoperative magnetic resonance tomographic angiography (MRTA) in predicting the clinical outcomes of trigeminal neuralgia (TN) patients following microvascular decompression (MVD).
METHODS: Preoperative MRTA imaging was performed on 167 consecutive patients with TN. The characteristics of offending vessels were determined by MRTA prior to MVD. The relationship of neurovascular contact was classified into 3 types: positive, negative, and ...

MATN1‐AS1 promotes glioma progression by functioning as ceRNA of miR‐200b/c/429 to regulate CHD1 expression
[ PUBLICATION ]
OBJECTIVES: Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) MATN1-AS1 is a newfound lncRNA that has been rarely explored in cancers. Herein, we would like to investigate its role in glioma.
MATERIALS AND METHODS: qRT-PCR was conducted to examine gene expression in glioma. Then, MTT assay, colony formation assay and flow cytometry analysis were applied to evaluate the function of MATN1-AS1 on glioma cells. Western blot was performed to measure the protein levels of genes. Besides, the luciferase reporter ...

Regional differential decomposition and convergence of rural green development efficiency: evidence from China
[ PUBLICATION ]
An objective understanding of the current situation and influencing factors of rural green development in China is an important prerequisite for effective formulation making of green development policies. Based on the panel data of 31 provinces of China from the year 1997 to 2017, this paper constructs and measures the rural green development efficiency (RGDE) based on Driving-Force, Pressure, State, Influence, Response (DPSIR) model and super-efficiency slacks-based measure (SBM) model. ...

All That Glitters is Not Gold: Recent Progress of Alternative Counter Electrodes for Perovskite Solar Cells
[ PUBLICATION ]
Although ultrahigh power conversion efficiency (PCE) up to 22.7% has been achieved by solution-processable perovskite solar cells (PSCs), there are still some obstacles that hinder the way of this promising photovoltaic technology to its commercialization. One of the problems is that most of the state-of-art PSCs are dependent on the use of noble metal gold (Au) or silver (Ag) as a counter electrode (CE), while Au is costly, Ag is very unstable. CE plays a vital role in cell device ...

Drosophila female germline stem cells (GSCs) serve as one of the best understood stem cell types. GSCs reside in a special microenvironment, the stem cell niche, and their activity is tightly regulated by niche-derived signals. In addition to the stemness-promoting signaling molecules, the niche also generates other signaling molecules that regulate GSC differentiation. Recent studies are beginning to appreciate the intricate interactions among these signaling molecules in the niche and ...

On the basis of the short-time energy of speech signal and the efficient method of noise statistics adaptation estimation proposed by Sohn et al., a new high robust voice activity detection (VAD) rule for any kinds of environmental noise is proposed in this paper. The accurate recognition rate of the new method is about five percent higher than that of Sohn's method on average, and also has the same merit of tracking the noise spectrum properly as Sohn's method. A great deal of ...

A PCR-lateral flow assay system based on gold magnetic nanoparticles for CYP2C19 genotyping and its clinical applications
[ PUBLICATION ]
Presently, clopidogrel is the standard therapeutic drugs for antiplatelet therapy. Variants in the CYP2C19 gene influence the clinical response of clopidogrel. Thus, the US Food and Drug Administration suggested CYP2C19 genotyping needs to identify before taking medicine. Due to high cost, time consuming, and sophisticated instruments, current single nucleotide polymorphism detection methods are limited in clinical application. In the present study, we established a genotyping method for ...

The paper represents a framework for a vehicle detection, segmentation, and tracking system. The Challenge is to use a single monocular camera as input, in order to achieve a low cost final system that meets the requirements needed to undertake serial production in auto supervisory industry. We use a hierarchical method from the foreground region level to the vehicle level. The approach concerns stages of motion detection, edge detection, filtering, detection of the vehicle’s position, ...

We propose a multi‐channel sliced deep Recurrent convolutional neural network (RCNN) with a residual network. We expand the RCNN into a deep neural network. Our proposed model can directly learn to extract bigram features and other features from sentences where other machine learning methods cannot. The experimental results indicate that our model outperforms the traditional methods.

A study on microstructures and properties of P/M valve seats of hot forging by laser irradiation
[ PUBLICATION ]
A CO2 laser was used as heating source for hot forging. Powder/metallurgy (P/M) valve seats for car engine was studied by this novel process. The effects of compression ratio and tempering temperature followed by laser irradiation on the microstructures and mechanical properties were investigated. It was indicated that the amount of the recrystallized grains increased with increasing compression ratio, especially when the compression ratio was above a certain value (18.70%), resulting in ...
