Emerging evidence documented the key functions of circular RNAs (circRNAs) in various malignancies. Nevertheless, the research relevant to the clinical value and functions of circRNAs in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is still very limited. In this study, we performed qRT-PCR to assess the levels of hsa_circ_0007534 in NSCLC tissues and cell lines and evaluated its clinical significance using Fisher's exact test, Kaplan-Meier analysis and Cox regression analysis. Additionally, ...

OBJECTIVE: Ameloblastoma shows invasive growth and is susceptible to recurrence. This study aimed to detect the expression of E-Cadherin, Vimentin and β-Catenin (proteins related to epithelial mesenchymal transformation (EMT) in the ameloblastoma and to explore association with clinicopathological characteristics of ameloblastoma.

METHODS: Immunohistochemistry was employed to detect the protein expression of E-Cadherin, Vimentin and β-Catenin in the ameloblastoma, and its association ...

We report on the effects of varying higher-order multipole components on the performance of a novel radiofrequency quadrupole ion-trap mass analyzer, named the planar Paul trap. The device consists of two parallel ceramic plates, the opposing surfaces of which are lithographically imprinted with 24 concentric metal rings. Using this device, the magnitude and sign of different multipole components, including octopole and dodecapole, can be independently adjusted through altering the ...

While there have been a dozen of authoring systems and programming toolkits for visual design and development, users who do not have programming skills, such as data analysts or interface designers, still may feel cumbersome to efficiently implement a web-based visualization. In this paper, we present ECharts, an open-sourced, web-based, cross-platform framework that supports the rapid construction of interactive visualization. The motivation is driven by three goals: easy-to-use, rich ...

A reusable sensing strategy employing magnetic nanoparticles and thymine-containing aptamers was developed to detect Hg(2+) in real water samples based on "turn-on" resonance light scattering. The LOD was as low as 500 fM (S/N = 3), and the present sensor can be repeatedly used for at least seven cycles.

The essential pathophysiological roles of hyaluronic acid (HA) strongly depend on HA binding and HA size. Here we deployed the atomic vision of molecular dynamics (MD) simulation to experimentally investigate the influence of C-terminal mutations of Streptococcus equisimilis hyaluronan synthase (SeHAS) on HA product synthesis in Escherichia coli. R413 was vital for HA production, as the removal or mutation of R413 led to inactivation of SeHAS. MD simulations indicated that R406-R413 ...

We present a novel homebuilt scanning tunneling microscope (STM) with high quality atomic resolution. It is equipped with a small but powerful GeckoDrive piezoelectric motor which drives a miniature and detachable scanning part to implement coarse approach. The scanning part is a tiny piezoelectric tube scanner (industry type: PZT-8, whose d31 coefficient is one of the lowest) housed in a slightly bigger polished sapphire tube, which is riding on and spring clamped against the knife ...

OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to investigate the human telomerase reverse transcriptase (hTERT) expression and telomere length in ameloblastoma, and expolre the role of hTERT in the invasiveness and recurrence of ameloblastoma.

METHODS: hTERT expression was detected by immunohistochemistry and Western blotting and telomere length by fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) in human ameloblastoma, normal mucosa, and oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC). Association between ...

Although we currently have a good understanding of the role C-X-C chemokine receptor type 4 (CXCR4) plays in T cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (T-ALL), the mechanism of CXCR4-mediated T-ALL migration remains elusive. Therefore, we focus on the downstream signals of CXCR4 that contribute to T-ALL cell migration in this study. Rho GDP-dissociation inhibitor 2 (RhoGDI2) is expressed preferentially in lymphocytes. It interacts with and regulates the activation of Rho proteins by inhibiting ...

The non-metal organic polymers have attracted increasing attentions in the photocatalysis field because of their low cost, metal-free, visible-light responsive, easy preparation and high stability. Herein, metal-free (SCN)n polymers with various polymerization degrees were prepared by a facile, low cost and environmentally friendly grinding method and presented excellent visible-light photocatalytic performance for organic pollutants degradation and Cr(VI) reduction. Owing to their π ...

In this work, the effects of ammonium fluoride on the decomposition of geochemical samples were investigated by analyzing some certified reference materials (CRM). The major and minor elements were detected by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES), while trace and ultra-trace elements were analyzed by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). Decomposition time, temperature and the amount of ammonium fluoride were studied in detail. In the ...

With the tunable and flexible physicochemical properties, tantalate photocatalysts with tungsten bronze structure are worth being studied. In this work, we successfully synthesized a novel potassium tantalate K6Ta10.8O30 with tungsten bronze structure using a facile solid-state reaction route. The effects of calcination time on the phase composition, morphology and crystallinity of the obtained samples were studied by XRD and SEM analyses. In addition, the photocatalytic activity of the ...

Multi-omics strategy contributes as an indispensable and efficient approach for the investigation of the innate immunity in vertebrates. To explore the crucial genes and pathways involved in the antiviral innate immunity of black carp (Mylopharyngodon piceus), the comparative phosphoproteomics and transcriptomics of Mylopharyngodon piceus kidney (MPK) cells with/without GCRV infection were performed in this manuscript. In phosphoproteomics analysis, 2637 phosphosites corresponding to ...

    Abstract

While quantitative ethnographers have used epistemic network analysis (ENA) to model trajectories that show change in network structure over time, visualizing trajectory models in a way that facilitates accurate interpretation has been a significant challenge. As a result, ENA has predominantly been used to construct aggregate models, which can obscure key differences in how network structures change over time. This study reports on the development and testing of a new approach ...
